Mangaluru, Jul 29: The person who posed death threat to former deputy commissioner (DC) Sindhu P Rupesh on social media, was arrested by Moodbidri police on Wednesday July 29.
The arrested has been identified as Ranjith (20), resident of Mijar.
Ranjith, a member of a WhatsApp group, had posed death threat to Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner (DC) Sindhu B Rupesh. The screenshots of the WhatsApp chat had become viral in the social media.

Discussions were on in a WhatsApp group on the reported statement of the DC warning of strict legal action when referring to attacks happening on cattle transporters in the district. During this debate, a person directly posed death threat to the DC in Tulu language.
It may be recalled Sindhu P Rupesh, was transferred in a routine transfers of IAS officers by the state government on Tuesday July 28 to be replaced by Dr Rajendra K V.
