Bengaluru, Jul 28: Karnataka deputy chief minister Dr Ashwath Narayan, minister of health B Sriramulu and district in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary held a video conference with the district administration officials from Vikasa Soudha. The DCM directed police officials to take stringent action against those who indulge in malicious propaganda regarding coronavirus.
"The state government will extend all the cooperation of providing oxygen cylinders, Rapid Antigen kits, ambulances and ventilators so that the coronavirus victims do not get anxious," he said. The DCM and minister of health asked the deputy commissioner, the team of health officials and heads of private medical colleges to provide free medical treatment to the impoverished.
The additional deputy commissioner Roopa speaking in the video conference held under the leadership of district in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary stated that over 204 oxygen cylinders, 13,500 Rapid Antigen kits, seven ambulances and 143 ventilators are available currently. "As the newly arrived ventilators will be installed in a couple of days, there is no scarcity at present," she said.
"Lab facilities are available in Wenlock, KMC Attavar, K S Hegde and Yenepoya hospitals. Over 500 tests are being conducted on an average per day," she added.
DCM Dr Ashwath Narayan responding to it asked the additional deputy commissioner to ramp up the tests to 1,000 per day. He expressed his appreciation for the commendable work carried out by officials, staff, police department and ASHA workers to curb the spread of the virus in the district.
Strict action against malicious propaganda:
"Fear is being induced among people in the media and social media by propaganda and false news about the virus. Coronavirus victims are being insulted and confusion is being created against the corona warriors. Strict action will be taken against those who spread malicious propaganda," the DCM said, directing the police department to take necessary steps.
The three ministers via video conference guided the district administration on ways to prevent the further spread of the virus.
