Mangalore, Mar 9: Mandd Sobhann’s “Mandd” theatre troupe presented its 16th production, devotional Konkani play “Christha Kathir” at the 99th monthly theatre presentedin Kalaangann here on Sunday March 7.
The play was based on the true stories of ‘Martyrs of Japan’. This powerful tragedy play brought about the sufferings and sacrifies of the believers of Christ in Mount Anjena of Nagasaki. The play was originally written in Kannada by M. John Permannur titled Nagasakiya Ragthasakshiyaru and later it was brought to Konkani by Arun Raj Rodrigues.
Play was directed by M John Permannur and co-directed by Arun Raj. Background music has been scored by Praveen Prabhu.
The cast included Mazie Nazareth, Angelore, Christopher D’Souza, Cascia, Martin D’Souza, Vamanjoor; Lesley Ferrao, Permannur, Blassy Monteiro, Shakthinagar; Sheldon Crasta, Bendore, Roshni Goveas, Kulshekar; Alwyn Miranda, Jeppu, Suraj Pinto, Ganjimutt; Rohan Rodrigues, Bendore, Robin Noronha, Kelarai, Blany Monteiro, Shakthinagar, Rony Pereira, Kelarai, Roshan Sequeira, Bantwal, Regnal D’Silva, Ruzai and Suraj Machado, Shakthinagar.
This was the 4th show of the play. Over 15 shows will be presented in various places of Dakhsina Kannada and Udupi Districts during this Lenten Season.
