Mangaluru, Jul 24: A 42-year-old man from Serkala in Kolnadu village became a victim of coronavirus infection. He already was suffering from certain health-related complications. After falling sick a few days back, he had been admitted to a hospital at Puttur and then shifted to a hospital at Deralakatte.
His test report was positive. He breathed his last on Thursday, Jul 23 after which a funeral was conducted at Serkal mosque.
A 52-year-old from Kalladka near here had been admitted into a hospital in Mangaluru for treatment of heart problems. He passed away on July 21 and test reports later confirmed that he was infected by a coronavirus.
A total of 13 corona cases were confirmed in this taluk on Thursday which included two from B C Road, two women from Kadeshwalya, and a patient each from Bantwal, B Mooda, Maripalla, Vital Casba, Benjanapadavu, Sajipamunnur, Bantwal Casba, Kamprabail and Kaikamba.
After an employee of a bank at B C Road was found infected with the virus, the branch was sanitised.
At the same time, a woman aged 65 from Charmadi Pandikatte in Beltangady lost her life. She had been admitted into a hospital at Deralakatte three days back for treatment of respiratory problems. Her throat swab sample had been sent for testing and she was isolated at her home. On Wednesday midnight, she lost her battle for life, and the report received on Thursday confirmed that she was coronavirus positive.
A person from Kanioor, Barya was confirmed with this infection on Thursday.
