Puttur: Dengue claims life of social, political leader

Puttur, Jul 21: Vittal Bhat Moodaje (57), a resident of Ilanthila village, who was a noted social worker and political leader, passed away on Monday, July 20 on account of dengue fever.

Moodaje had exhibited his leadership and organizational skills at a young age. He had closely been associated with the former chief minister of Karnataka, Ramakrishna Hegde, Congress leaders, and Yediyurappa. He was earlier a dedicated Congressman and was also a member of Ilanthila gram panchayat. Since the last 15 years, he was identified with the BJP and had been involved with many social activities. 

Vittal Bhat had served as the zonal Gurikar of Havyaka Samaj and worked to develop the government school at Ilanthila, Yuvaka Mandal, and Bhajana Mandir.

He was infected with dengue fever on Monday. As his condition turned serious, he lost his life at a private hospital in Mangaluru. He is survived by his wife, a son, and a daughter.
