Udupi, Jul 15: Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesha has announced a set of guidelines that are to be followed in containment zones from July 15 until further notice.
Complete lockdown will be implemented in containment zones. Only emergency medical services and essential services will be permitted. Movement of people is banned otherwise.
Religious places, hotels, restaurants, guest houses and shopping malls are allowed to be open. Temples, churches and mosques should be confined only for visits. More than 20 people are not permitted in them at a time. Religious rituals are not permitted. Public celebrations are banned.
Weddings can be held after prior permission from the tahsildar. A maximum number of 50 people are permitted for such events. Social distance should be maintained during the last rites and at all times. A maximum of 20 people can attend them.
Shops cannot permit more than five people at a time. Movement of traffic is banned from 8 pm to 5 am the next day.
Complete lockdown will be enforced on Sundays until August 2. However, transport of goods vehicles, petrol pumps, medical shops, clinical labs, hospitals, milk dairies and newspapers are permitted. Hotels can provide food parcels or deliver food.
The district border will be sealed from July 15 to August 2. Public transport and fairs are not permitted. Those who are arriving from or going to other districts can do so before 8 pm on July 15.
People should wear masks in all public places. Spitting is banned. Schools, colleges, universities and commerce institutes will remain closed. Online/distance learning is permitted.
Cinema halls, theatres, gyms, swimming pools, entertainment parks, bars, assembly halls and similar places will remain closed.
It will not be suitable for people above 65 years of age and less than 10 years, pregnant women, and the sick to come out of their houses except in the case of a medical emergency.
Criminal cases under the Disaster Management Act 2005 will be registered against those who violate the guidelines, the DC warned.
