Udupi, Jul 14: Deputy commissioner of the district G Jagadeesha, chaired a meeting on precautionary measures to be taken to regulate spread of coronavirus, on Tuesday July 14. The meeting considered the fact that coronavirus infection has been spreading faster of late. Local MLA K Raghupati Bhat, Karkala MLA Sunil Kumar, Byndoor MLA B M Sukumar Shetty, Kaup MLA Lalaji R Mendon, and Kundapur MLA Srinivas Shetty, participated in the meeting.
It was decided to seal down all the borders of the district for a period of 14 days. For those who want to go out or come into the district through its borders, time till 8 pm on Wednesday has been given. At the same time, complete lockdown on Sundays as enforced by the state government earlier, was decided to be continued.
Zilla panchayat chief executive officer Preeti Gehlot, district superintendent of police N Vishnuvardhan, additional deputy commissioner Sadashiva Prabhu, assistant commissioner K Raju, district health officer Sudhir Chandra Sooda, district COVID nodal officer Prashanth Bhat, district surgeon Madhusudan and other officials were present.
