Bengaluru, Jul 13: Amid mounting pressure from various quarters and some political parties in favour of bringing Dakshina Kannada district under another period of lockdown in order to contain rising incidents of coronavirus infection, chief minister B S Yediyurappa asserted that he is personally opposed to the idea of lockdown.
He laid bare his opinion at a meeting he held on Monday July 13 with district administrations of various districts via video conferencing facility. The said further appealed for cooperation from public.

The chief minister advised the concerned not to nurse the false notion that lockdown will address all the ills and concerns relating to coronavirus.
He obtained a report on the current situation in Dakshina Kannada district. During the interaction, he gave his notion about lockdown as above.
Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh, Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister Kota Srinvas Poojary, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and other officials were present during the meeting.
