Kasargod, Jul 13: Kerala government has issued a warning to those who violate quarantine rules. Noting that quarantine rules are laid down to restrict spread of coronavirus infection, the government said that violation of these rules will attract Rs 5,000 fine.
"For those who violate COVID rules and take part in protest demonstration, agitations, strikes etc, Rs 1,000 per head would be collected as fine," the government said. The state government has made necessary amendments in the Epidemic Diseases Act by way of notification.

For holding public functions, marriage, religious programmes etc in violation of the regulations, a fine of Rs 1,500 would be imposed. For funeral, Rs 700 fine would be levied.
The migrant workers will face a fine of Rs 500 for violating coronavirus rules, and for violation of norms relating to marriage, the fine prescribed is Rs 2,000.
