Kasargod: Quarantine rule violations to attract Rs 5,000 fine

Kasargod, Jul 13: Kerala government has issued a warning to those who violate quarantine rules. Noting that quarantine rules are laid down to restrict spread of coronavirus infection, the government said that violation of these rules will attract Rs 5,000 fine.

"For those who violate COVID rules and take part in protest demonstration, agitations, strikes etc, Rs 1,000 per head would be collected as fine," the government said. The state government has made necessary amendments in the Epidemic Diseases Act by way of notification.

For holding public functions, marriage, religious programmes etc in violation of the regulations, a fine of Rs 1,500 would be imposed. For funeral, Rs 700 fine would be levied.

The migrant workers will face a fine of Rs 500 for violating coronavirus rules, and for violation of norms relating to marriage, the fine prescribed is Rs 2,000.

    Unless police do laati charge on violators, there is no meaning.
    If they pay fine and distribute Corona, then who are the losers.

    Very good initiative........congratulations....!! Karnataka should charge 10,000/- for violators... Here, some simply break the rules unnecessarily trying to spread infection to whole of Mangalore and causing trouble to everyone...... Yesterday also same riders were moving on the interior roads double rides/triple rides without masks... How and where police can eye on these violators who do not know what's their RESPONSIBILITY in controlling the infection... ??? Why to blame govt and it's authorities when we don't change ourselves????? When we change and when we behave responsibly no need of lock down.... Why to call dakshina Kannada as "BUDDHIVANTARA JILLE"? When we don't follow one day's lockdown, are we ready to obey for three weeks? Now, please never say, corona virus acts on Sunday and every night during curfew.. rest of the days sleep... During lock down, if emergency any, call the concerned authorities, who will definitely swing into action. Please don't break the rules...
