Bengaluru, Jul 11: "Shelter is being built for animals at Sira of Tumakuru district at an estimated cost of Rs 44 crore on a sprawling area of 20 acres of land. This is the first such shelter in the state of Karnataka. I have given instructions to the concerned officials of every district and taluk to see that the animals do not face any issue," said Prabhu Chauhan, minister of State for Animal Husbandry of Karnataka.
The minister was speaking at the press conference on Saturday, July 11 held at Vidhana Soudha. He further said, "Ambulance facility is being provided for animals in 16 districts of the state. Action is being taken to see that the veterinary doctor reaches the place where the animal is kept within four hours.
"Cows should not end up in slaughterhouses. They should be safe. This is the motto of our BJP government. Action is being taken to introduce anti-cow slaughter bill once the coronavirus pandemic is over. This is the agenda of BJP government. This law is already in place in many states. I will speak to the chief minister in this regard.
"We will distribute support price amount of Rs 1,24,900 lac to the milk suppliers till February 2021. Measures are taken to distribute support price of Rs 53,504 lac to farmers from March till June,” he said.
