Mangaluru: Coronavirus claims DK's 31st victim after 35-year-old man passes away

Mangaluru, Jul 10: Dakshina Kannada on Friday July 10, recorded its 31st death due to coronavirus.

The victim, a man, was a 35-year-old resident of Hosabettu. The man died at Wenlock, the district Covid hospital.

It may be recalled, Dakshina Kannada had recorded two deaths due to coronavirus on Thursday. The district has witnessed nine deaths since Monday now.

Till Thursday, as many as 1,709 people have tested corona-positive in Dakshina Kannada out of which 977 are active. As many as 702 persons have recovered and discharged.

    Total lack of policy and bad management by state government and respective district administrations. Cases and deaths are under reported. Protocols and quarantines rules are changing on daily basis to confuse people. Intermittent weekend lock downs with pains but no gains. No quarantine for exposed doctors and exposed doctors are infecting more and more. No effective management of quarantine or home isolation. Porous check posts and officials not aware of what they are supposed to do with objectives. A frightened medical community with a tendency to run away when war is declared and who quite often forgets the commitment to their noble profession. Substandard infrastructure and equipments. Shortage of drugs, quality PPE Kits and N95 Masks. Entire healthcare delivery trenched in neck deep corruption. Lack of political will power to reign private hospitals. Discrimination of people to cattle class, middle class and super class in even providing health care during pandemic. And greedy people and few politicians to encash misery of people. The writings on the wall is getting clear day by day. It seems, we are not satisfied nothing less than a super spread. Worst times are still to come.....!

    Death rate is high in D.K. , whereas Udupi covid hospital is handling cases effectively. Death rate is very low. Hats off to Udupi DC.

    who is managing covid 19 challenges effectively. Its time to D.K. to look into the covid management and treatment to boost the confidence level of D.K people.

    why everyday atleast one person dies due to corona in DK.this month not even a single day there is no death.everyday one or more person keeps on dying.what is the problem.are they not getting proper treatment? Or any other thing? Last month June we had 10 deaths and now 31.

    Why no random testing throughout the city. Get vendors in all major markets in Mangalore random tested. This the only way to control its spread. Once the lockdown is open random test must be done. Otherwise how will we know if community spread is there or not if only cases with systoms are tested
