Mangaluru: 'Corona testing, treatment covered under Ayushman Bharat scheme' - DC

Mangaluru, Jul 9: Deputy commissioner (DC) Sindhu B Rupesh in a circular has said that Ayushman Bharat Arogya Karnataka is a scheme to provide health services to all.

The circular stated, "Ayushman Bharat also includes being able to avail COVID-19 treatment. There are over 240 service centres in Dakshina Kannada district where one can avail the health card. People can visit the nearest centre and obtain an Ayushman Bharat card. However, people will have to wear masks and maintain social distance while they are in the centres.

"Beneficiaries with BPL ration cards are also eligible for free treatment up to Rs 5 lac under the scheme. People with APL cards will be reimbursed up to 30 per cent of the treatment cost of the government package rate not exceeding Rs 1.5 lac per year. They can obtain treatment after they furnish their ration cards and Aadhaar cards.

"The nearest government hospital, taluk and district hospital, government medical college Arogya Mitras and Arogya helpline 104 can be contacted for further details," stated the circular.

    This scheme is applicable across India for BPL but they are never told or educated abt such schemes.What about the middle class people ? We neither have any schemes like this nor we are rich enough to afford good treatment. But as of now, there are sufficient beds in govt hospitals but if the condition worsen like the metro cities we will be helpless.

    Thanks for our government for this scheme. This is indeed necessary for all at this situation where people are struggling due to no work.

    No other State has offered this Scheme.
    Most Politicians only announce but only in Karnataka they Implement & then Announce ...
