'Visit Udupi district if you have corona-negative report' – DC Jagadeesha

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Jul 6: "It is a matter of concern to note that people coming into the district from different states come here before receiving reports of the COVID-19 tests they undergo at private laboratories. If the district administration finds that the reports they subsequently receive were positive, criminal cases would be lodged against such persons," warned deputy commissioner (DC) G Jagadeesha.

He therefore urged people coming into Udupi district from other states to undertake travel only after they receive coronavirus test reports. He also asked private laboratories to inform the result of the reports to respective district administrations without fail.

DC G Jagadeesha

Expressing resentment at the fact that social distancing is not being followed in buses, he ordered issuance of notice to the regional transport officer for not registering cases relating to violation of social distancing norms against the buses. He also instructed all the tahsildars to make passengers over and above the prescribed load to vacate and register cases against drivers and conductors of such buses, and to arrange for transportation for the additional passengers by buses through the regional transport officer.

What about super markets? The people at cash counter deal with everyone who comes to purchase. They exchange notes. If a positive person not knowing about his condition enters super markets to buy things, exchanges notes with cashier, cashier gets positive or say theirs hands carry the virus before they sanitize it, and then this cashier will tranfer the virus to many others.

This is just one scenario of virus spreading from shops/super marts/medical etc.

Please issue strict guidelines to shops on how to sanitize and undertake proper measures.

When the cases were in single digits, people were allowed to enter the shops with limited persons at a time and also had to apply sanitizer to hands before entering.

Now the cases have reached 1000+, and nobody is caring. No sanitization of hands while entering, not limits to people entering.

Seems like world is bored of Corona virus and wants to move on without giving a "DAMN".

PLEASE ISSUE PROPER GUIDELINES TO ALL THE SHOPS/MEDICALS ETC.

Govt. should make it mandatory to bring the COVID - 19 positive report before landing in the District. After that they have to send them for home quarantine for 14 days provided report is Negative. If it is positive then send them to home quarantine for 14 days provided they have separate room for them & check them again after each 5 days until report comes Negative.

Govt of Karnataka issues official SOP for persons entering the state from other states and govt officials at border check point allow entry of people in accordance with the SOP. DC cannot impose his own rules on top of it. Probably he can form rules for inter district travel for his district.

It looks pandemic is crossing the limit of control of district authorities.

As responsible people we all have to co operate to control this pandemic.

We have to follow all safety precautions and also report to authorities if there are any violations.

People coming from other states and districts needs to be regulated well so that virus if brought in does not spread locally through them.

    Reporting of symptoms is crucial.

I think it is high time district authorities should involve voluntary organisations, willing volunteers at the village level, ward level task force to help the authorities in controlling the situation. Staff of the authorities are not enough and fatigue is creeping in them due to over work.

If DC is willing we are all ready to help. Let us all co operate and help to control the situation before it turns into a disaster.

Negative person can get infections on the way as well.
So there is less weightage for any report.

Only corona recovered person is scientifically safe ?
He will not be infected again for some duration!
