Bengaluru: ‘PU result in July third week, SSLC in August first’ – Minister Suresh Kumar

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Jul 3: Karnataka education minister S Suresh Kumar, has informed that PU result would be published during the third week of July whereas SSLC result will be announced during the first week of August this year.

The minister visited SSLC examination centres located at Attibele, Chandapur, Sarjapur, Dommasandra and some other places in Anekal taluk and scrutinized precautionary measures employed there. He also held a consultation with on duty scouts students who were present there.

The minister said that 33 students who had to stay out of this examination will be allowed to take part in the supplementary examination being held during August. He added that these students will be treated as fresh candidates.

About fee charged by private schools, Suresh Kumar said that they cannot hike school fee this year for whatever reason. "We have asked the schools not to enhance the fee on account of humanitarian considerations. If they hike the fee, the parents have been asked to file a complaint. To facilitate this, we have also opened a helpline. Private schools have to pay salaries to teachers. Therefore they cannot function without collecting a fee," he clarified.

Expressing satisfaction at the fact that the SSLC examinations this time went on smoothly with 98 per cent attendance, he noted that the children appeared for the examinations with confidence due to confidence-building measures undertaken. "This was not the examination for education department alone. We drew cooperation and support from the home department, transport, health, as well as scouts and guides," he stated.
