Mangaluru, Jul 3: Srinivas Institute of Technology and Srinivas Pharmacy College held Vanamahotsava programmes under the National Service Scheme.

The chief guest, Dr Srinivas Mayya D, college principal, spoke on the subject of forests for water and created awareness on preservation of forests and their development. He called on them to grow, protect, utilize and love forests.
He advised all the teachers to ensure the protection of forest resources, grow saplings and trees in the institute premises and in their houses.
Heads of all the departments, professors and NSS convener, Rakesh Mallya were present.
Srinivas Pharmacy College Vanamahotsava programme
The National Service Scheme unit at Srinivas Pharmacy College in association with Indian Pharmaceutical Association, Dakshina Kannada district unit held Vanamohotsava maintaining social distance on July 3. College teaching and non-teaching staff planted more than 50 saplings.
National Service Scheme convener of the college, Sripathi D, assistant professor, Pharmaceutical division welcomed the chief guest and principal Mayya.
Dr A R Shabaraya College principal and president of Indian Pharmaceutical Association district unit drew attention to the trees that provide fruits and flowers, recollected the results of the past Vanamahotsavas and commended the continued participation of the staff. Indian Pharmaceutical Association member Ashok Shenoy planted saplings and set the programme in motion.
National Service Scheme, programme organizer Abhishek Pradhan rendered the vote of thanks.
