Mangaluru, Jun 27: The Department of Psychology (UG), St Agnes College (Autonomous), here, organized a one-day international webinar on COVID-19 - Rebuilding and Resuming Resilience.
The session began with a prayer followed by the inaugural address by the principal, Sr Dr M Venissa AC. Dr Hithakshi Anand, head of the Department of Psychology and convenor of the webinar introduced the resource person: DrJacksan Judan Fernandes, renowned counselling psychologist and director at www.jacksanfernandes.com, from Kuwait.
The webinar aimed at introducing practical approaches to developing resilience in order to overcome challenges and setbacks and promote social and emotional wellbeing.
Dr Jacksan skillfully threw light on the current emergency that we are all faced with. As he spoke about the negative influence of the pandemic at an individual level, he stressed particularly on the psycho-physiological impact as well as the importance of maintaining well being. He also provided guidelines on how to manage stress on a day-to-day basis. It was a one-of-its-kind webinar with practical approaches on nurturing and developing resilience that can be incorporated in one’s routine.
The webinar was held on Google Meet and also streamed live on YouTube. Participants from all over India as well as Kuwait, Dubai, Qatar and Malaysia benefitted from the webinar.
