Panaji, Jun 27: Goa government on Friday said that the state government is ready to put up more facilities to treat COVID-19 patients, if required.

State Health Minister, Vishwajit Rane said that people of Goa should cooperate with the the government by abiding norms like social distancing and use of masks to avoid spread of COVID-19.

“Goa government is committed to keeping the people of Goa safe. We are ready to create more facilities including another COVID facility in the state. The Goa government has designated ESI hospital at Margao as COVID-19 facility. If required, another facility can be created in North Goa.

"I am monitoring the facilities provided to the coronavirus positive patients who are lodged in different covidcare facilities.

"The state has enacted stringent protocols and Standard Operating protocols. The state health department has begun random testing at different clusters where positive cases are reported.

“We should know what is happening in these clusters,” he said.
