Kuwait, Jun 15: After suffering grave injuries in a fire accident, Sathish Kochu Shetty (47), a resident of Padil in Mangaluru, breathed his last on Sunday, June 14 in Kuwait after being in the hospital for three days.

Sathish was the victim of an accident that had taken place on June 11 in a drilling tower of Al-Sabriya Refinery. The incident also resulted in an injury of another worker, as per reports of Kuwait Oil Company. According to a statement released by the company, the accident took place due to sudden ignition of accompanying gases while the drilling operations in the tower were underway.

As per sources, Sathish was pronounced dead around 12.30 pm on Sunday. Following Sathish's death, KOC stressed on the importance of the safety of their workers and said that a committee has been formed to further investigate the accident.

These people do a hard job in the sweltering heat of Middle East. Presently the temperature is soaring sometimes, even crosses 50 degrees Celsius.
Bad times and stressful life. So dad on the part of parents and siblings. Their near and dear one is no more. May God give strength to the bereaved family members to overcome the grief.
May his Soul rest in peace.

    Very unfortunate incident.

An accident happening beyond the most stringent of safety protocols is in itself a matter of fate. By any means, it's extremely rare to hear of refinery related accidents in the Middle East (to the best of my knowledge). There is zero tolerance and the highest standards of safety are adopted ... be it during start-up or shutdown operations.
