Kundapur: Son dies of heart attack after learning about mother’s death

Kundapur, Jun 13: In a tragic incident, a man passed away after suffering a heart attack within an hour of learning about his mother's demise.

The deceased have been identified as Shakuntala Shet (72) and Prashant Shet (43). The mother-son duo passed away late in the night on Friday, June 12.

Prashanth Shet, the proprietor of Maharaj Jewellers, died within an hour after receiving the news of his mother’s death. Prashanth is the third son of Ramesh Shet and Shakuntala Shet. He was always known to have a calm demeanour.

The mother and son were cremated together at a Hindu crematorium in Kundapur.

    Most cases including me sons are more attached to mother and daughters to father.
    It is by nature.i lost my mother a year back but that wound is still within me.i lost my father few years back. But emptyness is not like mother.
    Some sons cannot digest their mothers death.

    Mothers always give more quantity of food to sons rather than daughters like wise fathers too for their daughters

    Joshua Kuwait,it depends how their relationship is.Mostly mothers are soft hearted towards sons.It is natural .But self hearing the sad news of mothers death,son gets heart attack and die means he too must have had some heart ailments previously which noone noticed.Still sad and tragic in the family two deaths at once.Heartfelt sympathy to the family.May their souls rest in peace.
