17 including 14 Saudi returnees test corona-positive in DK, 22 new cases in Udupi on Jun 12

Mangaluru/Udupi, Jun 12: Dakshina Kannada on Friday June 12, reported 17 fresh coronavirus cases. As many as 22 new cases were detected again in Udupi on Friday.

In Dakshina Kannada, among the 17 patients, 16 are males and one female. As many as 14 have come from Saudi Arabia, two are Maharashtra returnees and one is a Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) patient. All of them have been admitted to the designated COVID hospital in the district.

Four patients who recovered were discharged on Friday.

With this, the total tally of coronavirus cases in Dakshina Kannada has risen to 241 (including 10 from other districts), out of which 105 are currently active. As many as 129 patients have recovered and been
discharged, and seven have died.

As many as 22 cases were reported in Udupi on Friday. The patients are 14 males and eight females including four children. Among 22 patients, 21 are Maharashtra returnees and one male patient who came in contact of a lab technician who was tested positive few days ago.

As many as 31 patients who recovered were discharged on Friday.

The total number of coronavirus cases in Udupi district are 990 at present, out of which 408 are active, 581 discharged, and one patient has died.
