Mangaluru/Udupi, Jun 8: Three new cases of novel coronavirus were reported in Dakshina Kannada, while 45 fresh cases were detected in Udupi on Monday June 8.
In Dakshina Kannada, a total of 42,914 people have been screened so far, including 27 on Monday.
A total of 9,756 samples have been sent for tests so far, out of which 9,457 have tested negative, and 195 positive, including 10 persons from other districts. Out of these, 89 are currently active. As many as 99 persons have recovered and been discharged, and seven deaths have occurred so far.
Three patients were discharged from Wenlock on Monday. These include two males aged 43 and 52 and a female aged 32.
As many as 217 samples were sent for testing on Monday. Reports of 134 samples were received on Monday, out of which three tested positive and the rest negative. Reports of 104 samples are awaited.
In Dakshina Kannada, the three who tested positive are a 52-year-old man who returned from Maharashtra, a 23-year-old man who returned from Dubai and an 8-year-old boy who travelled from Maharashtra. All the three have been admitted to the designated COVID hospital in the district.
As many as 14 persons were admitted on Monday for observation.
A total of 5,117 people have been treated at fever clinics so far. On Monday, three cases of severe acute respiratory illness (SARI) were reported.
Udupi
As per the health bulletin released by the Udupi district administration, a total of 4,394 people have completed 28 days of quarantine, including 50 on Monday, and a total of 4,843 have completed 14 days of quarantine, including two on Monday. As many as 248 persons are currently in home quarantine and 1,156 people under institutional quarantine.
A total of 81 people are in isolation wards, including 14 fresh admissions on Monday. Among them, two are coronavirus suspects, while four have SARI and eight influenza-like illness.
As many as 781 people, including 13 on Monday, have been discharged from isolation wards so far.
A total of 12,540 samples have been collected so far, including two on Monday. Out of them, 11,566 samples have turned out to be negative, including 193 on Monday, and 28 reports are awaited. As many as 946 confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in the district, including 45 on Monday. As many as 274 patients have been discharged, and 671 cases are active. One death has occurred so far.
Out of the 45 cases reported on Monday, all are Maharashtra returnees.
