Mangaluru, Jun 8: Being a green campus at the heart of the city, it has always been a tradition at St Aloysius PU College to splash newer vibrant colours that add to its serene environment. This year the COVID-19 crisis did not hamper the zeal to observe the World Environment Day in a unique way.
Keeping in view the 2020 World Environment Day theme 'Biodiversity - It’s time for nature', the management with principal Fr Clifford Sequeira SJ, finance officer Fr Vinod Paul SJ, campus minister Fr Sujay Daniel SJ revisited the commitment to nature by planting saplings at the campus.
The staff engaged themselves in the green drive by growing plants in the safety of their homes. As for the students, the collaborative endeavour inspired them to do the same and to uphold their responsibility towards mother earth.
The Department of Biology launched a free certificate course on 'Composting', in an attempt to encourage our students to adopt eco-friendly habits that would go a long way in nurturing nature for a better future.
