Mangaluru/Udupi, Jun 6: Twenty-four coronavirus cases were detected in Dakshina Kannada (DK) while cases 121 people tested positive in Udupi on Saturday June 6.
In the 24 people tested positive in Dakshina Kannada, there are 17 males and seven females, including three children. Eleven are Maharashtra returnees, the source of infection of five people is yet to be traced, six people have come from Dubai, one person from Ukraine and Turkey and another one from Saudi Arabia. Three people were discharged.
With this, the tally in Dakshina Kannada has reached 175. Out of these, 77 are currently active. As many as 91 persons have recovered and been discharged, and seven deaths have occurred so far.
As many as 121 people tested positive in Udupi on Saturday. Seventy-eight males and 43 females including 16 children tested positive. All have travelled from Maharashtra and were under quarantine. As many as 101 people were discharged after being cured.
As many as 888 confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in the district. A total of 233 among them have been discharged, and 654 are active. One death has occurred so far.
