Mangaluru/Udupi, Jun 6: Twenty-four coronavirus cases were detected in Dakshina Kannada (DK) while cases 121 people tested positive in Udupi on Saturday June 6.

In the 24 people tested positive in Dakshina Kannada, there are 17 males and seven females, including three children. Eleven are Maharashtra returnees, the source of infection of five people is yet to be traced, six people have come from Dubai, one person from Ukraine and Turkey and another one from Saudi Arabia. Three people were discharged. 

With this, the tally in Dakshina Kannada has reached 175. Out of these, 77 are currently active. As many as 91 persons have recovered and been discharged, and seven deaths have occurred so far.

As many as 121 people tested positive in Udupi on Saturday. Seventy-eight males and 43 females including 16 children tested positive. All have travelled from Maharashtra and were under quarantine. As many as 101 people were discharged after being cured. 

As many as 888 confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in the district. A total of 233 among them have been discharged, and 654 are active. One death has occurred so far.

    People are totally confused with contradictory & spontaneous diktats coming from different sources at different times; in fact, there should have been one single source who would issue the final orders!
    Admist these confusion the entire benefits of knockdown & quarantine & migrants movements seem to have nullified; as one can see the spiralling figures everyday! Opening of public places, transport, etc could add fuel to the fire!

    If government had thought about economy and Jobs of young people, they would have planned before implementing lock down. Not that "everyone is doing, we will also do".

    Also they would have planned before implementing demonitization, GSD, also before wasting money on statues. They would not have asked youths to sell Pakodas.

    Please do not say that government is worried about youths becoming jobless.

    But later stage, failed to identify who should travel and why?

    People are moving north to south and south to north.. that was not right..

    Economy is in very very bad shape as many cos are closing down & small businesses are in begging state as no money is flowing with general public!
    Many MSMEs will wind up soon if they are not supported by the authorities.

    I think we are heading in reverse direction. In other countries after lockdown ends cases declines. But in our country cases increased after lockdown ended. Id it continues like this situation will go out of control necessitating another lockdown which ultimately ends our economy. We are devoid of proper strategy in covid control. God should save us

    We have done lockdown, lighting diyas, clapping hands in a wrong time and unlocked when cases are steady increasing. We cannot comment against government because even our educated have become blind Bhakthas.

    99% of them arrived from other states and countries mainly Maharashtra and very very few cases are police staff at check posts coming into contact with these patients. Only ten to fifteen cases including five today are untraceable.
