Kuala Lumpur, Jan 29 (IANS) A 48-year-old Indian was Friday sentence to death by the Malaysian High Court which convicted him of drug trafficking.
Judicial Commissioner Mohd Yazid Mustafa sentenced Athiseshan Singaram to be hanged, after he was proved guilty of trafficking 25 kg of ketamine to the KL International Airport (KLIA) two years ago.
The judge said the evidences presented by the prosecution clearly showed that Athiseshan constantly held the bag containing the drug and knew its contents at all times, Bernama news agency reported.
Athiseshan was arrested at the customs examination counter of the airport July 26, 2008.
