Mangaluru/Udupi, May 30: As many as 14 cases were reported in in Dakshina Kannada (DK) while 13 tested positive for coronavirus in Udupi on Saturday, May 30. Five patients who were cured were discharged on Saturday.
As reported earlier, eleven males and three females are the ones to be tested positive in DK. While 13 persons to test positive have travelled from Maharashtra, one has contracted the infection from a corona-positive woman (P-947) in Pilar in Someshwar.
Also, five patients were discharged on Saturday. Four men and one woman was among the discharged.
In Dakshina Kannada, a total of 42,540 people have been screened so far including 71 on Saturday. As many as 18 people are currently admitted in NIT-K Surathkal quarantine facility. Another 26 are quarantined in ESI hospital while two discharged on Saturday.
A total of 8,910 samples have been sent for tests so far, out of which reports of 8,442 tested negative, and 119 positive, out of which 68 are currently active. As many as 44 persons have recovered and been discharged, and seven deaths have occurred so far.
Out of the 119 positive cases, 111 are from Dakshina Kannada and eight patients are from other districts.
As many as 54 samples were sent for testing on Saturday. Reports of 198 samples were received on Saturday of which 184 were negative and 14 positive.
Reports of 349 samples are awaited. As many as 16 people have been admitted for observation.
A total of 4,507 people have been treated at fever clinics so far. On Saturday, six cases of severe acute respiratory illness (SARI) were reported.
The deputy commissioner (DC) through a press release informed that a 76-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman are in serious condition and are shifted to the ICU.
Udupi
As reported earlier, 13 people tested positive. Ten males and three females including a 3-year-old child are the ones to be tested positive in Udupi. Twelve have come from Maharashtra and one from Telangana. All of them were under quarantine.
As per the health bulletin released by the Udupi district administration, a total of 3,786 people have completed 28 days of quarantine, including 49 on Saturday, and a total of 4,750 have completed 14 days of quarantine, including 24 on Saturday. As many as 55 persons are currently in home quarantine and 134 are under institutional quarantine.
Altogether, 12 high-risk persons and 55 low-risk persons are under hospital quarantine. A total of 64 people are in isolation wards, including seven fresh admissions on Saturday. Among them, one is a coronavirus suspect, while four others have SARI and two influenza-like illness.
As many as 705 people, including 13 on Saturday, have been discharged from isolation wards so far.
A total of 11,001 samples have been collected so far, including four on Saturday. Out of them, 4,904 samples have turned out to be negative, and 5,920 reports are awaited. As many as 177 confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in the district, As many as 50 have recovered, and 127 are active.
