India a Global Success Story: British PM

London, Jan 21 (IANS) British Prime Minister Gordon Brown says India is a "modern global success story" that is marching toward prosperity.

"The astonishing pace of change, the dynamism and excitement that it is generating and the potential to do great things is a tribute to all Indians," Brown said in an article marking the 60th anniversary of India becoming a republic.

"The long march to liberty is now being matched by the rapid march towards prosperity," Brown said in his article, published in Asian Lite magazine.

Brown said modern Britain "simply wouldn't be the same without our strong bond with India and the enormous part played by the Indian community."

"The relationship of one of the world's oldest democracies with one of the largest owes its foundations to our proud historic ties.

"But it thrives now - as a partnership of equals - on our shared values and our faith in free institutions, free markets and free societies."

The British leader said his meetings with prominent Indian-origin people at a Diwali reception at 10 Downing Street in October "reminded me again of the deep respect and enduring friendship of our two nations."

"For many years now our public services, professions, businesses and cultural and creative industries have been enriched by the Indian community," he added.

".The Britain-India link is central to our shared prosperity and people of Indian origin here are part of the very fabric of modern British society."

    Dear Mr. Nagesh Nayak, First of all I & Mr. Gordon Brown did not tell you or to the fundamentals that we will provide a certificate. For it is sure these fundamentals are ready to receive certificates. Secondly, if the fundamentals have Hindu roots they should not have secured certificates from the United States and from Pakistan. Ask Mr. Yeddyurappa why he took certificate from U.S.A? Late Prime Minister Morarji Desaiji received certificate from Pakistan. Why the great Nalanda University couldn’t provide them certificates? Now china will be the second in the world as an economic power. United States of America is the world power already. If I compare to your comment Christianity is the strong root for USA’s strong foundation for all round developments. China’s Buddhists roots will become second in the world which supersedes Hindu strong roots. Is it your perception? Tell me? Before 200 years British have taken valuables from India and at that time Hindu roots were not there?

    Mr.Nagesh nayak want see India in stone age.One of the big reasons of Indian success story is because of our English education Coupled with Science and Technology that our Indian Children understand in young formatting years.Also,this brings all our superstitious beliefs,Old irrational grandfathers clauses (which some call "CULTURE")are challeged by our education.The modern education is responsible for our growth NOT OLD Religious and fundamentalist thinking which always push us backwards.I strongly beleive that Congress is responsible for this forwatd thinking,whereas sadly, the BJP still beleive in religious communal and divisive propaganda.Why we dont have Nobel prizes in India for science is because we still hold on to superstitions,religious belief which is against scientific thinking among large masses in India.

    Dear Mr. Nagesh Nayak Prime Minister Gordon Brown told that India is a global success story and marching towards prosperity and did not tell about the success of story of Hinduism and communal minds of the higher caste people. The developments of India is carried out by the GREAT CONGRESS very gracefully in 55 years with very good track record of developments. The credit goes to late prime Ministers, Nehruji, Indiraji, Rajivji, Narsimha Raoji and now Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singhji. During bjp (NDA’s) tenure of 5 years the GDP was only 5.5. During congress UPA period tell me how much Mr. Nagesh Nayak? Certainly the credit of development goes to the great Indian National Congress. Jai Hind.

    India is really shinning under the leadership of MMS.World leaders are acknowdlegeing our capability in all round development coupled with world's largest living democracy.Would India controlled population growth and compulsury mass education in early days,the story would have been different.JAI-HO-INDIA.JAI HIND.
