Kasargod: District has two new coronavirus cases - State tally 29

Kasargod, May 19: On Monday, 29 persons from the state got newly infected with COVID - 19. Out of them, two were from this district. Among the 29, 21 had recently returned from abroad, seven came back from other states, while a person from Kannur got infected because of having contact with a coronavirus patient.

One among the two who got infected in the district is a 28-year-old patient from Paivalike who returned home from Mumbai on May 15. He had been admitted into the institutional quarantine. He has now been admitted into Kasargod Medical College Hospital at Ukkinadka, district medical officer Ramdas, stated.

In the district, public transport is permitted with the condition of carrying not more than 50 per cent of the sanctioned capacity. No standing passengers can be allowed. But public transport between different districts is not allowed. Other vehicles can be used to ferry people to other districts. These vehicles can move between 7 am and 7 pm. No passes are required, but identity cards would have to be presented.
