Mumbai: Raghuram Chowta Passes Away in Metro

Mumbai, Jan 14: Seventy-nine-year-old Raghuram Chowta, father of journalist and writer Dayasagar Chowta, passed away on Wednesday January 13, following prolonged illness.

He hailed from a renowned Bunts lineage family from Kallige in Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka.  

He served as a teacher at A U P School, Miyapadav in Manjeshwar of Kasargod district, for three and a half decades and was the counselor for thousands of students from rural villages who aspired to pursue higher studies.

Raghuram is survived by five sons and one daughter. The funeral was at a crematorium located near BARC, on the morning of Thursday January 14.

Dayasagar is the secretary of Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangh–Maharashtra and editor of the Kannada edition of ‘Reliance R World Media’.

The office-bearers and members of Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangh–Maharashtra condoled the demise of Raghuram Chowta.
