Karkala: Staff, students of NMAMIT design touch-less hand sanitizer dispenser kit

Media Release

Karkala, May 14: A team of staff and students from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte, designed and developed a simple and cost-effective Touch-less Hand Sanitizer Dispenser kit at Research and Innovation Center, Nitte.

The most effective medicine for COVID-19 is social distancing, frequent use of sanitizer, and washing hands regularly. In work areas, many people sharing common sanitizer might lead to issues.

The developed product dispenses sanitizer upon sensing the presence of the hand. The product has features like automatic hand detection, indication for power, and sanitizer quantity in the system.

The product was launched by Dr Niranjan N Chiplunkar, Principal, NMAMIT, Nitte on Thursday, May 13.

The principal addressed the gathering and mentioned the need for such innovations during critical situations like Corona.

Dr Suryanarayana K, Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering welcomed the gathering and made a mention of constant support received from the management, Principal, and department during the project execution phase.
