Riyadh, Dec 28: Mangalorean community here celebrated Christmas event, Nathalacho Sambram, recently.
The programme started with carol singing. President of Aangan Konkneche, Riyadh Arun Soz Palimar welcomed the guests by briefing on Christmas celebration. Eric D’Sa Pangla spread the message of The Saviour.
Santaclaus arrived and made the children happy by distributing Christmas gifts and chocolates. Christmas cake was cut by Santa with him posing for photographs with all the families present at the celebration.
Royston Prabhu Urva, flagged off the function and later handed over it to Anand Lobo, special guest from Bahrain. Lobo added more colour to the event by conducting various games and singing ‘Mog tuzo kithlo aashelo’. Later Eden D’Sa Pangla and Eric D’Sa entertained the audience by singing Konkani and Tulu songs. Master Cadence D’Souza Mudarangady showed his talents by telling stories and singing melodious songs. A very distinctive housie-housie was conducted by Lobo.
Sumptuous dinner was served to all guests. Finally the entire crowd joined together on the dance floor for the traditional Mangalorean Baila. Manoj Mascarenhas Urva and Eden D’Sa Pangla won the title of Baila King and Baila Queen. The winners were judged by Eline Gonsalves.
