Bengaluru, Apr 14: State primary and secondary education minister S Suresh Kumar, said that in certain cases it is found that coronavirus infection symptoms appear after 14 days. In this backdrop, he said, that everyone is recommended to undergo 28 days of quarantine.
He said that one of the persons aged 58, had arrived in India from Indonesia on March 21. His infection was confirmed on April 12, 22 days after he returned from abroad. Therefore he said, that there are changes of symptoms appearing after 14 days and therefore, the people concerned are being advised to stay away from family members during the second half of 14 days. He said that people backed by the history of foreign visits and primary contact with infected persons are being subjected to institutional quarantine for 14 days.
"In areas where the infection is prevalent in large numbers, we have proposed to undertake random testing. There is a delay in implementing this proposal as the test kits have not yet arrived. We are expecting to receive the kits shortly, and steps will be taken soon thereafter," he explained.
