Kolar, Dec 9: K P Puttaswamy, who was caught by the Lokayukta sleuths while accepting bribe from his own subordinate on November 27, has succeeded in getting conditional bail from the state High Court.
Puttaswamy, who had failed to get bail from the subordinate court, had approached the High Court, questioning this decision. The High Court bench presided by Justice Hulawadi G Ramesh, which took up the plea for consideration on Monday December 7, passed this order.
It may be recalled, that P P Prakash, working as constable in the town police station here, had remained absent for protracted period of time, without authorization, as he had fallen sick. The department had ordered departmental inquiry against him. Reportedly, he had requested the SP to show lenience, and agreed to pay bribe as demanded by the latter. The Lokayukta policemen had raided the office of the SP on a complaint filed by Prakash, and caught the SP while accepting bribe from Prakash.
