Udupi, Mar 31: Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, said that the state will file objections and fight against the petition filed by Kasargod MP Rajmohan Unnithan, seeking to open the state border with Karnataka at Talapady for emergency cases including ambulances and movement of essential commodities.
The border remains sealed because of lockdown on account of risks of coronavirus spread.
Poojary addressed the media in Udupi on Tuesday, March 31. He explained that the current situation is so critical that each district has been handling the issue independently.
"It is pertinent to keep the district borders sealed because of the high potential of the pandemic getting spread to different regions. All the districts have sealed their respective borders. In the name of essential goods and services, unnecessary movement of vehicles should not be allowed and it becomes difficult to stop such things," he pointed out.
