Mangaluru: People queue up early in front of provision, vegetable stores

Mangaluru, Mar 31: The people of the district, who were under complete lockdown since the last three days, have lapped up the opportunity provided to them to buy essential supplies needed to runt their homes. The shops are open from 6 am to 3 pm on Tuesday, March 31.

A large number of people were seen going out of their homes early today and forming long lines in front of provision and vegetable stores. In some cases, the store keepers have marked the spots for the people to stand in the queue and a few chairs have also been provided to serve the weak and the old alike.

There are lot of vehicles on the roads and a huge line was observed at Mallikatte market in the city near Kadri. People were seen standing in queue to buy provisions, vegetables, milk, newspapers etc.

    Namaskaara, My Simple , humble Suggestion is for the Grocery shops or vegetable shops to to take responsibility of Delivering Essential provisions to Residents Staying Nearby - within 250 or 500 metres - by WhatsApp or sms or phone orders ... - This way the Social Distancing can be Achieved Easily Near the Homes ...., Another Idea is to Restrict or Allow only 10 flat members nearby nearby to come to shops at a Specific Time Only - (gap of 15 mins or 30 mins ) between 2 customers .....

    Just have a look into the pictures how people are standing. People yet don't know how to keep distance.
    Why our government doesn't implement such actions on stores. Why they don't volunteer the people to guide how stand to avoid further spreads. Nalim Kumar said all required things will be delivered to home, then why they open again.????
    Looking in to the scene the people yet to be educated on the virus else they will not take seriously. In foreign countries government adviced not only public but also for the super markets to control the behaviour of the crowd and necessary hygiene to follow before buying things.
    My humble request to the leaders for their actions...

    This is bound to happen. Administration now as to plan some different ideas SUCH AS SHIFTING THE MARKET S TO AN OPEN SPCES LIKE PUBLIC GROUNDS, SCHOOL PREMISES, CHRUCH OR TEMPLE GROUNDS WHICH WILL BE VERY CONVENIENCE TO THE PUBLIC. People will definitely support this move.
    Or Shops should be given permission to function on alternative days to ease the rush.

    Best way is to allow people whose phone number or adhaarnummberending with particular numbers only come out during particular days. Like the odd and even rule which was there in Delhi some years back for cars

    By seeing the crowds at markets & shops, it's better to keep open the essential stores throughout the day. Today's queue & rush will definitely spread the virus if any infected individual in between because it's very difficult to control the crowd. If stores kept open crowds will scatter through the day & also will help farmers too, otherwise there may be a situation where more farners committ suicide than corona virus deaths. Already farmers are restless.. I request the authorities to keep open the vegetable & milk stores throughout the day.

    There was no social distancing today. People were crowding. Very dangerous. This was as per expectation only. Stood in queue at 6:00AM and came back by 8:00AM.

    Social distancing is compramised today toa large extent in local shops selling Vegetables. Forget about 2.5mtr , people were crowded heavily at one point. What ever has maintained for the last 3 days today, it has hit back heavily. Atleast promising and ensurig intermittent supply of essential is necessary to avoid crowding at one time
