Sullia, Nov 30: The Bangalore police have arrested two men from Sullia and a woman each from Beltangady and Madikeri, relating to a racket of sending women to foreign countries by using fake passports.
The arrested persons have been identified as Abdul Razack, son of Paladka Cocoa Ibrahim from Aletty village near here, Zakir Hussain, son of the late Khader from Paladka Anjikar, Girija from Beltangady Marody and Prema from Madikeri.
Prema (20) from Madikeri used to work in a house in Marody, as per the recommendation of a local health worker named B B Girija (35). About two months back, Girija had taken Prema away from the house where she worked, saying that her marriage had been fixed. However, Prema had not reached her home in Madikeri.
Prema recently was caught while trying to fly to a foreign country by using a passport standing in the name of Nazia Banu. As per the information provided by her, the policemen arrested Girija. They further found that Abdul Razack and Zakir Hussain had provided the fake passport to Prema. Hussain, who was working in Dubai earlier, had recently come here. The policemen suspect that the racket is widespread. They are now searching for a man named Samshuddin from Mumbai, who is said to have been providing fake passports to the needy.
