Mangaluru, Mar 27: All the commercial activities will be suspended in the district on March 28.
The decision was taken in the high level meeting chaired by district in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary in the deputy commissioner’s auditorium on Friday.
Seven coronavirus cases are already reported in the district. Coronavirus positive cases have been increasing in the neighbouring Kasargod and Uttara Kannada district. The coming days will be all the more dangerous if public movements are not stopped. All should support the decision taken for better future of the people. The decision needs to be taken inevitably for the health of people. The prime minister and the chief minister have askaed everybody to stay at home and strictly maintain social distance.

In the circumstances, it was decided in the meeting to suspend all the activities, commercial affairs and completely close shops and establishments.
District MP, MLAs, district panchayat president, mayor and senior officials were present in the meeting.
