Centre extends international flight operations ban till April 14

New Delhi, March 26 (IANS): The Indian government on Thursday extended the ban on all international flight operations till April 14 to contain the spread of Covid-19.

The DGCA, in a circular, said that this restriction will not apply to international cargo operations and flights which have specifically been approved by it.

At present, domestic flight operations are banned till March 31.

    Why not keep a one month moratorium on international flights after the lockdown ? So declare closure till May 15th. Use this month gap to build fool-proof mandatory test of each and every passenger entering India and keep quarantine facilities ready before they walk out of the airport itself. We owe this responsibility to ourselves even if they may have been tested from the origin or transfer airports.

    Otherwise we may again risk exposure through international flights just as we come out of lockdown and all our efforts of 21 days will go to waste.

    Worst situation in italy france spain america..very very dangerous situation.
    G20 meeting is going to happen thru video conference...should ban all biological/nuclear/chemical weapons to be destroyed soon. Otherwise destruction struck in coming days.

    My big salute to DGCA for the decision to ban international flights till April 14. This is for the safety of all due to the deadly coronavirus has invaded the whole world which as of now has killed many and thousands are being treated in isolation rooms/wards. Even my plans to go back to New York via a week's stay in Dubai/Abu Dhabi has been postponed. Everything happens for good as three weeks back we went to Mumbai for a short visit and we had no problems till we reached Udupi. Since I am a Mumbaikar born and brought up in Mumbai so are my brother, sisters who got good education in Mumbai in Catholic schools and colleges and got good job in Dubai and migrated to US. God was great and so is now. We visit India especially Mumbai and Udupi at least once in two years if not less. My children are well settled down in New York with good jobs after perusing their degrees.
