Abu Dhabi, Nov 26: St.Joseph's School, Abu Dhabi held their Annual day on the 23rd of November 2009 in the school premises. The event, reverberating with an amalgamation of cultural multiplicity and multi-hued vibrancy, showcased the extraordinary talent of the students, unstinted commitment of the teachers and the able guidance of the Principal, Sr.Carmen.
The celebrations commenced with an apt tribute to the natives who have deemed us their own, the Arabic dance that had the spectators tapping their feet to the captivating middle-eastern beats. While the Sri Lankan Dancers enthralled the audience with their vivid and vivacious recital, the Dragon dancers slithered into every heart in a multi-faceted ensemble of grandeur and grace. The little ones of the Kindergarten had a story to tell of camels and Arabs, rendered with a blend of poise and a delightful air of endearing nonchalance. A bewitching ballet of the planets by the Junior Graders vied for an encore with the Japanese danseuses who sashayed and swayed to mesmerizing oriental strains.
The students of Grade XII captivated with characteristic elegance with their rendition of God and Man and the curtains fell with the grand finale-'The Earth Musical" a satire that portrayed world leaders greeting Barack Obama on his Nobel Peace Award. Flamboyant dances and thought-provoking dialogues peppered with humor ensured the onlookers remained glued to their seats true to the final curtain call.
Chief Guest, H.E Bishop Paul Hinder led an impressive assemblage of dignitaries from the Ministry of Education who came, saw and were conquered by the St.Joseph's extravaganza.
