Mangaluru: Good Samaritans distribute food to on-duty police, daily wage labourers

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Mar 22: Daily wage labourers had a tough time as there were no hotels as well as no work due to Janata Curfew which was in place on Sunday, March 22. Even the condition of the police was reportedly the same. However, two Good Samaritans of Rotary club hillside came to the rescue of these people.

Dinesh Mally and Manish Rao distributed 25 packets of rice, sambar and vegetable dish to the police performing their duty at Kankanady. Two daily wage labourers who were at the spot at the moment also got two packets from them.

Police on duty called it to be a very humane act by the two gentlemen. The police personnel also said that they were worried about their lunch as they were on duty since morning. Mallya and Rao said that they had readied packets of lunch and distributed the same to needy people near KSRTC and Pumpwell also.

The humane act of the two men is being lauded by all.

Good work. Hope works like these would spread more rapidly than coronavirus. I have seen other people also distributing food to the poor.
Respect to these people and the doctors and nursing staff and all the others working for the humanity.

I think I should not have compared this good work by coronavirus in any way.

What i wanted to tell is that the good works like this should rapidly grow and everybody should carry on this trend.

God will certainly bless your good deeds. One request, please wear gloves and sanitise your hands before distributing the packets. Its just to be sure that in this moment of trouble, your good deeds dont end up being trouble.

Humane gesture is lauded by hygiene wanting. At a time of crisis these photos do not communicate right message to the public. Phood needs to be well covered until one opens the packet. Elsewhere police officers would not accept any food from outsiders.
We know that police overwork and their services and sacrifices are not rewarded.

What we see in the photo as I perceive is food being served on a platter...for sure the good Samaritans did not carry the food that way . They seem to be serving the food to be consumed not to be taken away...
