Udupi: Coronavirus - Stricter guidelines issued by DC Jagadeesha

Udupi, Mar 18: In the wake of the increasing number of coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the district, DC Jagadeesha has imposed more stringent restrictions using his power under CrPC (Code of Criminal Procedure) section 144 (3).

Entry of public is banned in the festivals that take place in the temples of the district. Only the employees of temples are allowed to take part in the rituals. All services, except the Darshan of the God or Goddess is banned. No lodging should be provided for devotees who come to visit temples.

Public should not enter in groups in temples, churches and mosques. The DC has also ordered not to hold programmes like summer camps, functions, seminars, sports meets, where huge crowd of people will gather.

Beach, tourist places and weekly markets are barred for public. Marriages and other related functions should have only minimal attendees. The family rituals, where more people will gather should be organized at their private places and care should be taken to avoid the entry of outsiders.
