Mangaluru: SDIT inaugurates Shree Devi Sambhram - 20

Mangaluru, Mar 12: Shree Devi Institute of Technology, a unit of Shree Devi Education Trust, Mangaluru inaugurated 'Shree Devi Sambhram-20' a national level technical and cultural fest for the undergraduate students in association with Echelon-20 and Medha-20 on March 12 in the college Auditorium, Kenjar.

Dr A M Khan registrar, Mangalore University, Mangaluru, was the chief guest for the function. Dr A M Khan motivated student of various participating colleges with his dynamic words to actively take part in all the events, he said, "Technology is driving us to the next level and hence we need to upgrade ourselves with dedication, devotion, and with determination towards various activities that we undertake, be it academics or in life." Khan also mentioned about Swami Vivekananda’s quotes and with examples of great leaders like, Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel who rose to the level of personalities rather just being persons.

He also reiterated that we need to have courage confidence and conviction in all that we do in terms of our path that we choose, hence never complain, do not comment and do not compare.

"Swami Vivekananda called for 100 leaders to shape up our nation is a task that needs to be accomplished and one among those future leaders is among you. Hence all of you should rise above gender, caste, community or colour for shaping our nation to the next level," he added. He also wished good luck to all participants and urged them to take part with zeal and enthusiasm.

Addressing the students A Sadananda Shetty said, "This technical and cultural fest allows us to collect and rekindle the strength, creativity and skills and that which will lead to the zenith, it also provides a platform to interact and exchange great ideas amongst students which could lead to great opportunities in future. Shree Devi Sambhram-20 features a plethora of events, both technical and cultural. The technical events include - Paper presentation, quiz competitions, coding, RC flying, water rockets, bridge making, code war, solid waste management, scrap welding, RC racing, robo-wars, tech dumb charades. Cultural events like dance, mad-ads, treasure hunt, cooking without fire, antakshari and photography contest will be held on March 13.

Echelon-20 hosts a galaxy of events aimed at boosting the management skills inherent to today’s youth. With a spectrum of management and cultural events, Echelon-20 provides a platform for the best brains to interact and nurture their ideas and transform them into reality.

Medha-20, a national level technical fest provides a platform for the students of various colleges to showcase their technical skills, creativity and compete with the best. A newsletter 'Spoorthi' was released during the inauguration ceremony.

Programmes like gully cricket, airshow are much-awaited events taking place along with the sound booster for the DJ-TNO from Mumbai to entertain the student community on March 12 evening. The valedictory function will be held on March 13 evening, a cash prize worth of 6 lac and an overall championship and runners up trophy in UG, PG and Engineering Category will be given away. On March 13 evening a scintillating event by Toranto Nightingale, Jonita Gandhi’s live concert will be held.

The programme was presided by A Sadananda Shetty chairman Shree Devi Education Trust, Nidhish S Shetty vice-chairman, Maina S Shetty secretary, graced the ceremony.

Dr K E Prakash gave a birds-eye view of Shree Devi Sambhram-20 and Dr Dilip Kumar K principal welcomed the gathering, Prof Ashwin Sequeira, Prof Nethravathi and Prof A S Venkatesh were present amongst the student event coordinators.
