Udupi: Balaniketan Orphanage Gets State Approval

Udupi, Nov 16: State women and child welfare secretary Dr Ashwat handed over the state approval papers of Balaniketan Orphanage, Kukkikatte, near here, in a function held at the institution, on Sunday November 15.
Dr Ashwat said, “Destitute children are also a national wealth. Nearly 180 non-government organizations (NGOs) and state-governed organizations are functioning in the Karnataka while 32–35 NGOs are being supported by state funds”.
MLA Raghupathy Bhat inaugurated the renovated kitchen and dining facility at the orphanage on the same occasion.
Sri Vishweshateerta Swami of Pejavar Math, Kumbashi Sri Siddi Vinayaka Temple trustee Suryanarayan Upadhyaya, and district sessions court judge K B Chengappa were present on the dais.
The children of Balaniketan Orphanage celebrated Children’s Day and it was attended by Shantha V Acharya, wife of state home minister Dr V S Acharya.
Prof Kamalaksha welcomed the gathering. Ramakrishna Upadyhaya proposed the vote of thanks and K Subramanya Basri compered the programme.
