Mangaluru, Mar 12: The Mangaluru branch of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has organised a seminar on 'Vivad Se Vishwas' Direct Tax Dispute Resolution Scheme on Friday, March 13 at ICAI Bhawan Padil, Mangaluru which will commence from 3.00 pm onwards. The Scheme was introduced in the Union Budget-2020 for resolving the disputes pending before the various forums (viz. Appeals with CIT(A), ITAT, High Court and Supreme Court) over the years.
Considering the importance of the Scheme for the assessees and professionals, the ICAI has organised this seminar inviting dignitaries from various spheres. The programme will be inaugurated by Amrapalli Das IRS, principal commissioner of Income Tax, Mangaluru and Panaji. The programme will be presided by CA S S Nayak chairman, Mangaluru Branch of ICAI. The inaugural will be followed by a session on 'Vivad Se Vishwas Bill-2020' by Nithan Raj T N IRS, assistant commissioner of Income Tax, Mangaluru. The Mangaluru branch of ICAI has also arranged for a panel discussion with the representatives of the Income Tax Department and the CA fraternity and the assessees. The panel discussion will be headed by Dr S Palani Kumar IRS, additional- commissioner of Income Tax Range-2, Mangaluru.
S Srinivas IRS, deputy commissioner of Income Tax, Udupi; Vincent Peter Colaca IRS, assistant commissioner of Income Tax, Mangaluru; Nithan Raj T N IRS, assistant commissioner of Income Tax, Mangaluru; CA Naveen Khariwal practising CA Bengaluru will also be present. The panel discussion will be moderated by CA Pradeep Jogi chairman, Udupi branch of ICAI. The ICAI invites assessees/representatives and CAs to be part of this seminar as it will give an insight on the 'Vivad Se Vishwas Scheme-2020' which was introduced in the Union Budget-2020.
