Udupi, Mar 11: A woman who displayed coronavirus-like symptoms has been admitted to KMC Manipal's isolation ward.
The 68-year-old woman had travelled to Mecca in Saudi Arabia in the last week of February. She reportedly fell sick in Saudi and was treated for cough and breathlessness. After she recovered, she travelled back to India and arrived at Bengaluru International Airport. She was screened at the airport and was allowed to go. The woman then travelled to her hometown Anandapuram in Sagar taluk of Shivamogga district. Here, the woman fell ill again. She was treated at Nanjappa hospital for fever, cough and breathlessness. The woman's family decided to get her tested and has admitted her to KMC Manipal.
The bodily fluids collected from the woman, have been sent for test to Bengaluru. The test results will reveal whether or not the woman has been affected with coronavirus. Till then, the woman will be treated in the isolation ward of the hospital.
