Mangaluru, Mar 5: Chairman of Christian Development Committee of government of Karnataka, Joylus D'Souza, has welcomed the announcement of Rs 200 crore grant allocated for the development of Christian community in the state of Karnataka in the state budget that was presented by chief minister (CM) B S Yediyurappa.
In his message, released to the press, Joylus said, "The Christian community of Karnataka welcomes with gratitude, the announcement of Rs 200 crore for the development of the community in the state, allotted by CM B S Yediyurappa in the state budget for the fiscal 2020-21.

"In the 2011-12 fiscal, the then CM of Karnataka Yediyurappa had given a grant of Rs 50 crore for the first time in the history of the state. The grant of Rs 200 crore this year shows the concern honourable Yediyurappa has on the Christian community. I congratulate and offer my sincere gratitude, on behalf of the Christian community of the state, to CM Yediyurappa."
