Mangaluru, Mar 4: MSNM Besant Institute of Post Graduate Studies hosted ‘Edify 2020’, a full day post graduate level intercollege management fest on Tuesday, March 4, at Nethravathi Auditorium at MSNM Besant campus at Bondel.
Walter Nandalike, managing director, Daijiworld inaugurated the event. K Devanand Pai, secretary, Women’s National Education Society (WNES), presided over the function. Students of 18 management institutes of the regions participated in the competitions held during the fest. The objective of the festival was to sharpen the managerial skills of the students in a competitive environment.
Addressing the gathering, Walter Nandalike advised the students to develop a positive outlook to achieve success in life. Giving examples from his personal experiences, he highlighted the importance of taking failure positively. “Take criticism positively. Don’t be ashamed to commit mistakes as each mistake is a stepping stone to success,” he said.
Brian Fernandes, CEO, Spearhead Group, News Karnataka was the chief guest for the Valedictory function held in the evening. He advised the students to enjoy the process of learning. “There is a manager and a leader in each one of us. We have to rise from becoming a manager to a leader by committing SIN - Strategy Integrity and Innovation. Students have to envisage the future, do the right thing and create something new,” he said. He advised the students to compete against oneself and not others and to do a task better than yesterday.
Raghava Kamath, former general manager, Corporation Bank, presided over the valedictory function.
AJ Institute of Management won the overall championship, while MBA Department of Shri Devi Institute of Technology, Kenjar were the Runners-up.
Dr Molly S Chaudhuri, director, MSNM Besant Institute welcomed the gathering. Nanditha Sunil and Ridhvika Shetty, faculty and coordinators of 'Edify 2020' gave briefing on the event.
Shibony Snehal Pinto gave a vote of thanks during the inauguration ceremony, while Anand Nayak thanked the gathering during the valedictory programme. Shraddha and Shibony Snehal Pinto were the anchors for two programmes respectively.
