Bengaluru, Mar 3: Speaking to media persons at his residence on Monday, March 2 on the occasion of his birthday, JD(S) leader Madhu Bangarappa, launched a diatribe against his party's top leadership. He commented that he happens to be an 'inactive working president' of an inactive party’.
Madhu Bangarappa lamented the fact that his party is not being managed systematically. "Because of the way certain people from our party behaved during the coalition period, the party workers lost their faith in the party. I will reveal the names of such leaders in future. I do not understand the need to give memberships of the legislative council to people like Ramesh Gowda, Dharme Gowda, Farooq etc," he stated. He also wanted to know who took the decision to make Ramesh Gowda a MLC.
"I am the son of Bangarappa. If I plan to leave the party, I will make prior announcement about my decision. I will not resign from my position. If they want me to resign, let them ask me to leave or expel me," he challenged, dropping broad hint that he is considering the prospect of leaving the party.
Madhu said that on the day former state JD(S) president Vishwanath, left the party, he was with him throughout, and tried to make him change his mind. "Some people tried to create differences between Kumaraswamy and Vishwanath. JD(S) has to create leaders. If it continues to lose its leaders in this fashion, do you think the party can survive?" he questioned.
