Udupi, Oct 29: The newly constructed entrance gate of Holy Family Church, Brahmavar, was inaugurated by Linet D'Silva, while Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo blessed the newly built Holy Cross and the entrance gate on Saturday, October 26. Following the inauguration, a formal welcome and prayer ceremony were held in the church. The bishop then officially visited the cemetery, where he joined the faithful in prayers for their departed loved ones. He also visited and blessed the tomb of Fr Alfred Roche.
On Sunday, October 28, Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo presided over the Holy Eucharist celebration, during which he administered the sacrament of confirmation to nearly 48 parishioners.
The con-celebrants for the occasion included parish priest Fr John Fernandes, assistant parish priest Fr Mark Saldanha, along with Fr Lenson Lobo, Fr Charles, and Fr Joachim.
During the bishop’s pastoral visit to Holy Family Church, Brahmavar, parish pastoral council vice president Michael Furtado, secretary Asha Lewis, and 20 commission coordinator Joyce Gretta D'Souza were present. A large number of parishioners welcomed the bishop.
As part of his official visit, Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo met with catechism students, youth groups, and various church organizations. He also visited Sacred Heart of Jesus Convent, Karunalaya Ashram, Asha Nilaya, Nirmala English Medium School, and Nirmala Kannada Medium School.
