Kundapur, Feb 21: After a series of protests against the slow pace of work at Shatri Circle flyover here, work has gained momentum here since the last sometime. Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP, Shobha Karandlaje, inspected the ongoing works at the flyover on Friday February 21 morning. She also held consultation with Raghavendra, engineer of Navayuga company, which is executing this contract.
The engineer expressed the confidence that Shastri Circle works would be completed by April first week, and the Basrur underpass work would be finished by June first week.
When media persons wanted to know when the flyover here be inaugurated, Shobha, taking care not to be caught off guard, said that it will be done once all the related works are completed.
Speaking about Harish Bangera case, she said that the case is strong, and the police are trying to find out the real culprits who made derogatory posts after creating account in his name. "The investigation is in progress. We have to complete this task fast. I have told the superintendent of police (SP) that it will create problems if Harish Bangera is named as an accused. During preliminary inquiry, it is found that someone else made the posts. We have been following up the investigation. The SP has said that once the investigation is completed, the report would be submitted to the central government, she informed.
She clarified that some problems have been encountered in the implementation of the new train announced by railway minister, Suresh Angadi, between Bengaluru and Vasco via Kundapur. "I have urged the railway minister to inaugurate this train soon. I will meet him again and will inform date of inaugural to you," she promised.
