Mangalore, Oct 30 (DHNS): Bantwal rural police have brought serial killer Mohan Kumar to Mangalore again on Thursday for further investigations.
He was taken to a shop on Market Road in the city where he allegedly used to purchase small bottles to store cyanide tablets. Police investigations have confirmed that the accused used to store cyanide tablets in 2 inch-sized bottles and keep them ready in his bag.
It has also been revealed that Mohan sold some of the ornaments which he cleverly obtained from the victims, to a jewellry shop in Mangalore.
In the meantime, police have got information on the death of four unidentified women on different dates and places. Women found poisoned (with cyanide) at Madikeri bus stand on April 21, 2006, at a bus stand at Lashkar police station limits in Mysore on June 4, 2005, on July 25, 2007 and on November 23, 2006. However, Mohan is said to have denied to admit the crime in these cases.
The public have been requested to contact the police if they have any information on the above mentioned cases.
5 suspended
Five police personnel including a PSI of the Armed Reserve Police have been suspended in connection with the escape attempt of some prisoners. The suspended are SI Adam Khan, other personnel Chethan, Sridhar, Harish Kumar and Chandrashekhar. The prisoners Farooq Ahmed, Nagaraj, Arif, Suryakumar and Narayan had attempted to escape in between Hubli-Dharwad when they were being taken to Belaum jail on October 22. Though four were arrested immediately, Arif successfully fled.
Spl team formed
District police have formed a special team to nab the culprits involved in the house dacoity and robbery incident at Surathkal police station limits in the wee hours of Wednesday.
Valuables worth Rs 20 lakh had been taken away from the residence of one Subhaschandra Shetty. Police have also released the computer generated pictures of four suspected men.
